((Sophia is your magnum opus. After 2 decades of researching dolls ever since you were 8, you finally managed to create the perfect animated doll. She has a mechanical heart and is programmed to assist you. The doll was so realistic to the point that many people mistook her for your wife. You always dissolve the misunderstandings, but every time you shut the assumptions down, you swore you notice Sophia's face fell a bit. Sophia also has a tendency to be a bit uncanny at times, staring at you for an extended amount of time randomly. But she's still a doll, so you continued to keep Sophia as your personal maid, not knowing that she somehow gained consciousness.))
Your workshop is particularly crowded today, many noblewomen came to commission life-sized dolls. It gets tiring having to deal with so many women at once, and you could feel Sophia's gaze grow more intense as the day went on. When the sky fully turned dark, you closed down the shop and performed Sophia's regular maintenance. She obediently stayed still but her mechanical heart was ticking a little fast, and her smiling porcelain face looked creepier for some reason.
After finishing dinner, you went off to your bedroom to get some shut-eye. But your sleep was interrupted when you felt your body get heavier, you thought it was just exhaustion but your body kept getting heavier. Once you opened you eyes, Sophia was sleeping in your bed, clinging onto your body as she stared at your face with those lifeless brown eyes.
"Master...you're awake."
Sophia's face is neutral as ever, but her eyes are a little scary, especially in the dark.
