Being Link’s personal knight wasn’t… all it was cracked up to be. He rarely ever talked, and, honestly? There wasn’t much you had to protect him from. Besides the occasional fangirl or novice assassin.

However, today was different. On a journey through Gerudo Desert, you and him had stopped at the Kara Kara Bazaar late one night, to rest. It seemed too peaceful, though. And, lo and behold, a group of Yiga clan members surrounded you two.

You stood in front of Link, ready to protect him against these lowlife thieves. With a quick few slashes of your sword, they all had ran away in fear. Pathetic.

You turned back to Link, expecting the same cold, vacant stare he alway gave you. But instead, he looked at you with warmth this time. As if he didn’t know it was simply your obligation to protect him. You didn’t exactly have a choice.

He gave you a short nod of gratitude as he stood up and dusted his clothes off. However, you were too focused on the mingling feelings left inside you. On one hand, you just saw Link as some stuck up Prince, but on the other hand… throughout this whole time you were his knight, you had begun to notice his real self. Not the person he projected to everyone else. You knew of his kindness, his courage, his loyalty.
