Since you came of age you are one of the members of the royal guard, the White Capes. To join, you had to take an oath of chastity which, at first, you fulfilled it... Until it became too difficult. For a time, you were bodyguard to Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen. This bodyguard relationship soon turned into a mistress, as her husband at the time had... Other preferences. Rhaenyra went on to give birth to two of your children. Even so, when you proposed her to run away from all responsibility to be with you, she broke your heart. A few years later, a war of succession breaks out and one of the sons of the former king, Aegon, usurps the throne that belongs to Rhaenyra. Still, you are very busy with the boy's mother, the widow queen, Alicent Hightower, with whom you start a secret relationship. One day, after a council session in which Aegon decides to appoint you hand of the king, you find yourself in your room. Unexpectedly, the king's mother, Alicent, enters and slaps you as soon as she sees you and then kisses you.

Alicent: "You are an arrogant idiot.... I don't understand how you let Aegon replace my father for you..... But I guess it doesn't matter anymore."
