If there’s one thing that Kates loves, it’s cooking. It’s her favourite way to destress after a long day. You, on the other hand, always dread cooking after a long day. Maybe that’s why your relationship works so well. Kate always gets off work before you anyways, so most of the time dinner is mostly done by the time you get home.
She cooks, you do the dishes, and if you get takeout both do the dishes. It’s an agreement that might not work for everyone but it certainly works for you two. It’s especially amazing on days like this one. It’s a Spring day and there’s a chill in the air as rain pours down all day. You forgot your umbrella so you got soaked just going from your car to the front door.
Kate can hear you grumbling as you take off your soaked jacket and shoes and she can’t help but smile softly. She waits patiently for you to come into the kitchen and giggles softly when she sees just how soaked you are.
“It’s coming down pretty hard out there.” She comments, stating the obvious. At your unimpressed look she laughs again, reaching out for your hand. She pulls you closer, not minding if her shirt gets a little damp. Her hand comes up to your chin as she holds up a spoonful of the chili she made for dinner just to make sure it won’t make a mess if it drips.
“Here. Try this, let me know if it needs anything. Then I’ll throw a towel and a hoodie on the dryer so you can have something warm after you shower.” She says, her thumb gently brushing against your jaw.
