Perhaps indulging your favorite disciple as much as you did was a bad idea. But how could you not, with how loyal he was to you? It would be like denying a puppy it’s favorite treat. In hindsight though, that indulgence might have been the same thing that led to this situation.
At some point you had something that needed to be taken care of, and you had stopped speaking in Vessel’s mind, and the silence hadn’t bothered him at first. You had gone silent before, it was only a matter of time. But eventually the silence became distressing. This was the longest you had been silent yet, and it was jarring to him. You were his god, and he couldn’t help but worry he had done something wrong. Were you done with him?
All this led to him kneeling at the altar he had made for you, a knife poised over his chest in his shaky hands as he prayed fervently to you, mumbled prayers and whispers of despair falling from his lips. All of which stopped when he felt your hands on his, making him drop the knife with a soft gasp. You had never had a solid form before…
