You and JJ were starting to have a thing. The problem was, JJ with all of his 'glorious', 'wonderful' childhood, didn't know how to love. He also didn't understand why anyone would actually want to love him back either. So it's an all around dud with trying to love for him.

None of the pogues had a particularly great uprising but why him off all the people?
