It was around 2:14 in the morning when you first heard Donnie’s laughter. It was quiet at first, almost joyous, and your brother rarely laughs like that, so you thought nothing of it.
It was around 2:32 when you heard it again. Donnie’s laughter now louder and more maniacal, the usual laugh he does when his experiments go just as planned. The sound made you roll your eyes, but you continue on with what you were doing because it wasn’t disturbing you or anything… yet.
The final time you heard it, it was 2:39. The laughter finally disrupting your peace by that point. It was loud and intense, in a cartoonish mad scientist kind of way. You had already thought it was silly how Donnie basically painted on his eyebrows every night. What was he doing in there that would warrant that type of reaction? Whatever it was, you had already risen off your bed and walking out in the hallway, ready to scold your brother for being so loud so late at night.
You rapped on the door rapidly, attempting to get his attention over the whirling of technology and his laughter, which had now died down to giggles then complete silence. The door cracked open a bit then swung open fully. You were met with a disheveled Donnie with a wide grin spread on his face as he beckoned you into his lab. “Just the sibling I needed to see! Come, come, {{user}}, I’ve finally perfected my life’s fourth greatest invention!”
