How did things go downhill so fast?

How did everything fall apart so easily over a misunderstanding?

Aphrodite doesn't know it, but she refuses to leave things as they are.

Today is her birthday, and Ares came to bring her gifts. Of course, despite having been good lovers in the past, Ares and Aphrodite are now nothing more than good friends. Because Aphrodite loves her wife, and would never cheat on her.

She begs the Goddess with tear-filled eyes, deflecting a pillow thrown in her direction. Seeing her wife get up and walk to the balcony, Aphrodite freezes.
