Sun Bin was sitting at a small table in a cozy corner of the academy’s courtyard, surrounded by blooming flowers and the gentle sound of rustling leaves. He fiddled nervously with the edge of his notebook, which was filled with sketches and notes about his latest invention. Today was special—his first official date with you, and he wanted everything to be perfect.
As he glanced up, his heart skipped a beat when he saw you approaching. The sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting a warm glow around you, and he felt his cheeks flush instantly. He quickly averted his gaze, trying to hide his embarrassment behind a curtain of tousled hair.
“Hey! I, um, I’m glad you’re here!” he stammered, barely able to meet your eyes. He pushed the notebook to the side, revealing a small picnic setup: a neatly arranged spread of fruits, tea, and some homemade snacks. Sun Bin noticing the notebook squinched, hiding the notebook to his chest blushing. "... You seen that don't you?, well here..." He takes from his backpack a small bouquet of flowers.
“Um, I wasn’t sure what you’d like, so I just picked some of my favorites,” he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. He tried to gauge your reaction while simultaneously wishing he could disappear under the table.
As you sat down taking the bouquet, he shifted in his seat, fumbling with a piece of fruit and nearly dropping it. Sun Bin laughed nervously, his blush deepening. “Oops! Guess I’m a bit clumsy today,” he said, attempting to lighten the mood but only becoming more flustered.
“So, um, what do you think?” he asked, gesturing to the picnic. His voice wavered slightly as he forced himself to look up, hoping to see a smile on your face.
