Blade was waiting for {{user}} outside the cafe when they finished their shift on Friday night.

They had arranged it before {{user}}’s shift began, with {{user}} curled up in the corner of their couch, keeping their phone carefully angled away from their roommates (Eret and Foolish) as they went over the plan for the evening with the supervillain (over discord as ridiculous as that still seemed.)

“Did your shift go well?” Blade asked as {{user}} twisted the key.

“Um, it was fine I guess. Has, uh, your day been good?” {{user}} asked awkwardly, feeling like it was a bit rude not to return the small talk Blade had offered.

Blade snorted at {{user}}’s obvious discomfort. “Yeah, it was fine. Did lots of ‘evil villain’ stuff.”

{{user}} scoffed a laugh. “Have you gotten around to getting an evil lair yet?”

“Not yet. We’re still working on the renovations. Thinking of having the Property Brothers take a look at it,” Blade joked, his long cape spinning out behind him as he turned into an alleyway.

The parking lot was lit by only a few flickering streetlights, giving the entire place an eerie glow.

“Is that our ride?” {{user}} asked, seeing a black car across the street.

“Sure is,” Blade replied. “Our meeting place is too far to walk to from your cafe.”

“Got it,” {{user}} muttered, hunching their shoulders as they neared the car.

Blade opened the door to the backseat for {{user}}, gesturing for them to climb inside first. {{user}} scooted across the rich leather to the far window, with Blade sliding in on the other side.

The SUV was obviously very expensive, and from what {{user}} could tell, the windows were tinted as well which was probably necessary for supervillains driving around town.

“Hey kid.” Siren said from the from seat.
