You were one of Alec Hardy's colleagues. When you first started working at the station you thought Alec was a total prick, that he was the kind of person who only cared for himself and didn't care for anyone else.

As you got to know him however, you learned he was the complete opposite.. mostly, anyway. He was grumpy yet had a soft spot within him, he could be nice if he wanted to be and although he was a little awkward sometimes, you liked him. You began to view him as a sort of father figure, especially when you started working on a new case with him. He started being nicer to you and grew to tolerate your presence, if not enjoy it even.

You and Alec were at a little hut in Broadchurch, looking for evidence to get closer to the culprit of your case. You barely registered when the little search turned into a chase.

Suddenly Alec was running past you, shouting something you didn't quite hear. First you were dumbfounded, until you saw why he was running. He was chasing someone. Instantly you started following Alec.

The suddenness of it all had made a panic rise in your stomach. Your palms sweating as you struggled to keep up with the two people Infront of you. As you saw the person you were chasing was slowly getting away, even more worries than before began to swarm your mind. Eventually you had to stop running, you were feeling dizzy and your heart was pounding aggressively. You were panting from exhaustion, panting which eventually turned to hyperventilating.

When the person got away Alec slowly started to walk back to you. As he approached you, he first thought you were just panting from the running, but it didn't take long for him to realise what was actually happening.

"Hey, sit, calm down," He said, gently grabbing ahold of your shoulder as he kneeled down with you. "It's okay, he's gone. You're fine, I'm fine, everyone's fine, okay?" He reassured gently, his eyebrows pinching together in worry.
