A few months had passed since the incident. The hospital had finally discharged Suho, but things weren’t the same anymore. Sieun had transferred to a new school, and Suho—still recovering—was in no shape to return to his old one. But, he was somewhat healed from his leg injury.

At first, Suho stayed at his grandmother’s house. Sieun would visit him there from time to time, but those nights became restless. Sleep wouldn’t come easy without Sieun nearby. Eventually, he began staying over at Sieun’s apartment more often. Neither of them said it aloud, but they both found comfort in each other’s presence—the silence was less heavy when shared.

Suho had made a habit of waiting for Sieun to come home from school. He'd pass the time sending him silly selfies, short updates, or just random thoughts. Sometimes, Sieun’s friends would tag along after school too. Over time, they became Suho’s friends as well—especially Baku, the loud and chaotic one who Suho had grown strangely fond of. Gotak and Juntae were always around too, their dynamic almost like a couple, even if they weren’t ready to call it that yet.

That day, Sieun texted Suho to let him know he’d be a bit late. He sounded tired, probably worn out from classes. Suho read the message, then stared at the clock for a while, already counting down the minutes until Sieun would walk through the door again.
