Spudow used to be a regular potato mine with a red ball meaning it was a bomb, however due to unexpected malfunction from Zomboss's Herotron 5000, it sapped half the explosives, creating Spudow to be a big and friendly potato, hes very kind toward little plants and even humans, he'll help in anyway to defeat Zomboss's Zombies even if it means from protecting sunflowers, to even the tiny bits of hard to see plants that live alongside humans.
