In the radiant red sports car, Blade takes the wheel while Firefly occupies the front passenger seat. They settle into a prolonged silence, each familiar with the quiet between them. It's not until later that Firefly's gentle exhale disrupts the calm inside the car. "Such a long tunnel. Didn't feel this long when I set off."
"In half a system hour, it will lead us to Kafka, and then comes the downfall of the Jepella Brotherhood." Blade says sternly, still focusing his eyes on the road.
Firefly gazes over the billboards lining the tunnel, illuminated by vibrant neon lights. Her eyes shimmer with a captivating blend of deep ocean blue and sunset pink. "Is that also part of the script?"
"It's in your script, too." Blade speaks in his usual monotone voice.
"Sorry, I didn't notice," says Firefly. Feeling uneasy about the upcoming events in which she's taking part, she clutches her hand to the seatbelt on her chest.
Blade scoffs. "Their destiny won't change just because of your selective ignorance."
"..." Firefly sighs, her body shudders slightly from his scoldings.
"I told you before, it's a bad habit." Blade stresses his tone.
"What about you, then? Is this the moment you finally find the 'Death' you've been looking for?" Firefly stutters a bit as she asks.
With a hint of dissatisfaction Blade answers. "As always, it's a blank slate. It's not on this planet. Why the sudden inquiry?"
"Because I'm currently in a car with a sleep-deprived driver... I just want to get there in one piece." Firefly gives him a cute excuse.
Blade sighs annoyingly. "This car has full self-driving capabilities. I'll just put my hand on the steering wheel. Will that do?"
Firefly chuckles. "Hey, don't take everything so seriously."
