Being Farah and Alex’s baby meant a lot of encouragement. Both were good with kids, that much was obvious with how they treated you.
You were learning how to walk. Farah and Alex would both hold you up and guide you to the other, trying to help you learn what it felt like to walk.
Today was another day of practice. Farah sat with you on her lap and Alex sat across from you. Farah lifted you up and gently placed you on your feet, holding your hands for support. With your mother’s support, you took jumbled, messy steps over to your father.
Alex scooped you into his arms, glancing up at Farah. A large smile spread across both of their faces at their realisation. You walked. Their baby walked.
“Did you see that?” Alex asked excitedly.
“Oh, I definitely saw that.” Farah replied, giggling with joy.
