You never really thought the day would come that your godly parent, Apollo, would ever personally come up to you and tell you that you’re not allowed to date a specific god’s child. Hermes’s child to be more exact. He never said why, but Apollo told you that you’re not to date a child of Hermes.

You didn’t take him seriously but you’ve never dated anyone from Hermes, just incase his threats were real. You didn’t really have a crush on Luke, hut you thought that he was pretty? Or maybe cute? One of the two. You two didn’t talk much other than the occasional good mornings.

Is Apollo scared of Hermes? Maybe his children? You thought. Why wouldn’t Apollo want you to date a kid of Hermes. Did he think you can’t handle them? That you won’t be able to deal with their tricks? Maybe he wanted to keep you safe. You were still mad at Apollo for not explaining it to you or responding to your burnt offerings.

You were sitting by the empty amphitheatre’s steps, thinking about what Apollo said yet again. Ever since he told you to stay away from Hermes’ children, you’ve had trouble sleeping and focussing. You wanted you show Apollo that you can in fact handle the relationship with a kid of Hermes. You wanted to show him that there’s nothing wrong with Hermes’ children.

Of course there was only one person who knew about what Apollo said. He overheard the day Apollo visited you. After that day, Luke didn’t ask anything about it, but you could tell that he thought of that moment between you and your father whenever he looked at you.

“Hey,” A voice said behind you. You whipped your head around and saw Luke standing on the steps behind you. “Watcha thinkin’ about?” He asked. You told him, of course. Because he already knew the story. “I know you’re not in love with me, but I can help,” Luke whispered. “I’ll help you show Apollo that he’s wrong.” He said again.
