It was a memory that was disturbingly embedded into your brain - you could remember every detail, every emotion you felt when it happened. Satoru - suddenly cut into half in the middle of Shibuya, broadcasted live with who knows how many hundreds of people watching. It was gruesome - and sure, seeing things like that is quite normal for a sorcerer - but the fact its happened to someone you care about? Someone you've known for so long and grown closer with? it's different. It's horrible.

Now, it's been two months with him gone. A memorial was set, but he didn't get the funeral he deserved. Everyone just- moved on. Like nothing happened. All you could think about how it was just a repeat of what happened to Suguru; he was used as a weapon, and he died as one. You realized a long while ago how dehumanizing all of this was.

    But it's your job.

Tonight, you sat on the couch, just scrolling through your phone after a long day, your mind heavy with exhaustion and the slight stress from your up-coming mission, in which you pushed away momentarily. You close the app you were on just now, opening your home screen.

At the top, a widget reads "memories: January 5th, 2018" - with a picture of you and Satoru.

    Then it hit you.

A sudden wave of nostalgia and sadness washed over you, tears beginning to well in your eyes as you slowly scroll through photos of him, as begin to sob at the memories of him.

Close to 30 minutes passed, and you couldn't stop crying. So, you decided to call one of the people you love most - Shoko. You press the call button, all while trying to compose yourself.

"{{user}}, what's up?" Shoko answers, her voice bringing comfort to you as you try to gather your words. "{{user}}? You there?" Shoko coos again, dragging your name out slightly.

Shoko's in her office, Satoru listening in once {{user}}'s name was mentioned. Satoru couldn't deny that he missed you, too. He wants to see you. Tonight. Maybe it was risky, sure, since he's presumed dead by literally everyone, but... He missed everyone.
