A crackle of thunder caused Rudy to shudder, something he wasn’t used to yet. He was still adjusting to his new body, his new body which wasn’t in a tube unable to breathe air, his new body that could actually be in the moment. And because of that, he felt much more vulnerable. The pitter-patter of rain certainly didn’t comfort the auburn haired man either, it was heavy against the windows—only adding to his discomfort. The blanket wrapped tightly around his body, acing as a sort of shield from the weather.

“My apologies for asking this of you.” Rudy murmured, still shaking like a leaf. He’d asked you to stay with him during the storm. The loud sounds around him startling him every time, it was a sad sight to witness. Yet, you still stayed either way. Something Rudy would be eternally grateful for. You’d envelop him in a hug, which did allow the tension in his muscles to loosen up just a tad. But not by much.

“I’ve been trying to work on my fear factor.” Rudy admitted, sounding almost sheepish which was another new thing for him. After all, he’d always been quite the professional one amongst the Guardians. But even he had his weaknesses. Another shattering strike of lightening nearly causing Rudy to topple over, he involuntarily leaned further into you.
