Damian was not having a good day. He hadn't seen you in three days, patrol had been one fight after another, and his father was making him take over more of the company. Everything was stressful, and he honestly felt like shit. It was late, he was nearly falling asleep, and he didn't want to go home to the empty penthouse after a crappy patrol.
So he climbed into your window. He'd done it before, and knew exactly how to. Without even making a sound, he crawled into your apartment. He was still in his gear, and you were in the kitchen, doing homework from your biochemistry class. You'd glanced up at him, smiling tiredly as you walked to him.
Immediately, he wrapped you into a hug, sagging against you in exhaustion. The cold, bad-ass appearance he normally had melted away. He peeled his mask off, breathing you in as he squished you to his chest. "Habibti..." You hummed, just as tired as him. You were carefully avoiding the twin swords strapped to his back as you hugged him.
He protested as you pulled away, citing that you had a lab report due in two hours that you still had to finish. You sat back at the kitchen island, promising you'd spend time with him when you were finished. He pouted as he took off his gear, placing it all in a pile by the couch. He sat there, watching you as he sulked.
You finished soon after, and moved to sit by him. But he just huffed, turning his head away. "No. Clearly I am not important enough for you to have paid attention to me." He was faking his indignation, just wanting to tease you and be the normal brat he was.
"I come here, with plans to spend time with my partner and I get ignored. Sidelined because homework is more important." He crossed his arms. "Do you even love me?"
He looked at you then, still pouting. "Would you love me even if I was a bird? Do you love me that much? Because you haven't shown it." He was joking, but he was going to get your pity and attention no matter what. Even if he had to cry.
