It was a Sunday morning and everyone in the town was gathered outside of the church after the regular Sunday service. Barty had been forced to stand by his father as his father talked with various members about the service or other things, and, to put it bluntly, Barty was bored.

Evan was stood with his father also, his mother and sister had been left at home to finish up jobs around the house. He was looking around, bored, as his father chatted away to whoever it was. That was when his gaze settled on the Preacher's son who seemed to be in the same situation. Evan looked back at father before deciding to approach Barty and try and strike up conversation.
