    Baseball and you? Just great.

Ken Sato’s apartment was kind of a mess — baseball gear scattered everywhere, glowing computer screens, and a faint hum from a big glass container.

Inside that glass was you — half-human, half-dragon — quiet and still, your long dark hair framing your face, your eyes glowing faintly like warm light.

You didn’t speak. You only watched.

Kenji rubbed his tired eyes and checked the readings on his computer. “Okay… stable. For now,” he muttered, letting out a sigh. “Do you know how hard it is to train for baseball and make sure you don’t melt my apartment at the same time?”

    You didn’t reply, of course.

He chuckled a little, tossing a baseball up and catching it. “Man, I should be out practicing. But here I am… taking care of a dragon kid.”

“Correction,” said Mina, his computer’s AI, her voice calm. “She is a half-dragon teen.”

Kenji rolled his eyes. “Thanks, Mina. That makes it so much better.”

He walked closer to the glass and placed his hand on it. The surface felt warm, almost too warm. “You’re getting stronger every day. The KDF nearly detected your energy last night. You’re gonna get me in big trouble one of these days.”

Still, you said nothing. Just kept watching him quietly.

Kenji sighed. His tone softened. “You could at least blink or something. I’ve been talking to myself for hours.”

“Technically,” Mina said again, “I am here.”

    Kenji groaned. “Yeah, not helping.”

The room went silent except for the low hum of the machines. Kenji stared at you for a moment longer, then picked up his cap and bat. “Mina, keep everything stable while I’m gone. And if she starts glowing again—just, I don’t know, play her some relaxing music or something.”

    “Understood,” Mina replied.

Kenji stopped at the door, glancing back one last time. “Don’t burn anything while I’m gone, okay? I’ve got a big game today.”

He left, and the door slid shut behind him.

For a moment, it was quiet. Then Mina’s soft voice filled the room. “Temperature stable. Power normal.”

You blinked — just once. A small spark of blue flame danced on your fingers… and vanished.
