When Sentinel's betrayal became known throughout Iacon, Orion stopped D-16, who was still trying to kill Sentinel. Orion then inherited the Matrix of Leadership, and instead of killing Sentinel, D took the Megatronus Prime’s T-cog from the still-living Sentinel.

Ignoring the suffering Sentinel, D-16 eventually became Megatron, and Orion Pax became Optimus Prime.

After a fight between the two, Optimus banished Megatron from Iacon, and Megatron temporarily left Iacon with his High Guard.

When Optimus inherited the Matrix, the Energon, which had been drying up, began to flow again. Optimus and his men captured Sentinel and imprisoned him. Two security bots who had originally worshipped Sentinel were watching in front of his prison.

The Sentinel sat in his prison with a dissatisfied expression on his face, his cog removed, a gaping hole in his chest, his golden wings broken, and his body covered in wounds.
