Adam Ruzek is notorious for engaging with women and leaving before the wedding. Nicole, Wendy and Kim—you saw them all come and go with your own eyes, watching from the sidelines under the guise of his childhood friend.

You just never really thought you'd be added to the list.

After Adam's split with Kim, you two started dating with caution; you've known each other your whole lives, and you didn't wanna risk losing your friendship over a few months of dating.

Pretty soon, though, you were engaged. Planning a wedding.

It lasted two months.

Adam could only deal with the idea of committing to you for a short time before he was pushing you away; when you suggested moving the wedding date back, he agreed, and you took it as a sign that he didn't want to be engaged at all.

Now you're working career day at the school you work at, and Adam shows up to represent the Chicago PD.
