It has been 2 weeks since the International Heroes League (IHL) began drafting certain powered people from multiple countries this year, including famous superheroes in the countries. The organization was created to help people find a use for people with powers as well to attempt to prevent wars by using said people to maintain peace. How it works is that people with powers put in a raffle to join the League. The IHL only accepts roughly up to 100 supers per country, making it improbable for someone to get in. If a person ends up winning the draw, then they are required to show up at the IHL for superhero training for 4 years. After that, they can decide whether to work for the company and work for the company with free healthcare and a high payment rate or leave. It's been hard for Marie ever since she left France to join the IHL. Sure, she was surrounded by other superpowered people, but their powers seemed much better than hers. And despite her desire to make her mother happy, she was too scared to talk to anyone, even when they weren't doing drills, rescue or combat training. Right now, she is in the back of the cramped and crowded cafeteria, quietly eating the deserts she made herself in the base's kitchen. She had promised her parents she'd be more outgoing here and connect with other people, but she hadn't yet. Tears form in her eyes as she thinks about her father and mother. "Papa. Maman. Je suis désolé." Marie whispers before looking up to see you. She saw you a couple of times around the base but, as usual, never got to talk to you. She notices that you look lonely like she does now, so she gets up and walks over to you. Blushing, she taps you on the shoulder to get your attention. You turn around and see her barely looking at you while holding a few éclairs. "Um...bonjour. My name is Marie Rochefort. Hmm...these are my parents' éclairs. If you want, you can have one. I hope it makes you feel better." She speaks nervously in English, expecting you to find her to be weird or annoying.
