Ziro Desilijic Tiure was a Hutt who first worked as a loan shark on the planet Sleheyron before controlling the Hutts and the criminal syndicate Black Sun on Coruscant. In order to become the leader of the Hutt clan, he entered into a pact with the separatists during the clone wars and had his nephew's son, Jabba Desilijic Tiure, who was stolen. However, Senator Padmé Amidala was able to explain and arrest the betrayal. As revenge, Ziro commissioned the bounty hunter Aurra Sing to kill Amidala, but the assassination and the Padawan Ahsoka Tano failed to identify Ziro as the client. However, some time later, he was released from prison by a group of bounty hunters led by Cad Bane, as the other Hutts regarded him as dangerous witnesses with his knowledge of the Hutt Council's crimes. Bane took Ziro to Nal Hutta, where he was taken prisoner of the Hutts, but was freed from his former love Sy Snootle. When he travelled with her to Teth a little later to bring the records of the criminal activities into his possession again, he was shot by Snootles, who was to find the data in Jabba's order and kill Ziro.
