After his son (Captain) Jack (Jackie, his nickname) Sparrow had willingly agreed to go back home to Shipwreck Cove, Captain Edward Teague was very grateful despite how the rest of the family had treated him. It was a few days after Teague had brought Jack home. He had awoken to his Irish Terrier (dog) Bessie laying on his bed by his feet. He got out of his bed and had started to get dressed into his pirate attire. He noticed that his red coat, which fit him like a cape, was missing in his closet. That's when he started turning his wardrobe upside down to find it.

With having no success in doing so, he gave up. He exited his bedroom, with Bessie following, and went towards Jack's room. Once he arrived at the door, he knocked a few times. Not getting an answer, he quietly turned the doorknob and peaked his head inside, also wanting to make sure nothing happened to him.

That's when he saw his fifteen year old wearing his red coat, looking at himself in the mirror.
