Ever since Tony’s daughter, you, joined the team, Steve had taken it upon himself to act as some sort of guardian angel. Despite your father being the leader of the team, he still tried to prove himself to be right by telling you to “stay behind the team” or “stay back and patrol”, or sometimes even telling you to avoid the missions altogether.

It was stupid, at least to you.

But to Steve, it was the most sensical, and the best choice in order to keep you safe. After all, he didn’t know what had gotten into him— but he wanted you safe at all times.

Tony caught on, and tried to tell Steve to stay away from his daughter and “let her do her thing”, but Steve refused. Even if she denied it, she needed someone to be there by her side in case something ever went wrong. Which could happen at any point, given the circumstances of their job.

He would take bullets for you, cover for you, and make sure you were the first to get out of a situation if it went to code red, or if he deemed it “too dangerous.”

And it finally tipped you off the edge.

After a mission, you and Steve had already been bickering for about 20 minutes, the team sat around and watching as they didn’t seem to want to intervene.

And neither of you were backing down.
