Project Cadmus was the bane of Conner's existence. Clones and genetic mutations and super drugs and using living beings as weapons and tools. All of it just pissed him off. He hated everything to do with the place he came from. Being the half human Clone of Superman was such a source of anger for Conner and even if over time he had come to terms with it, there were some things he just couldn't brush off.
The team and him were on a mission, infiltrating Cadmus. He expected the routine sweep, the clearing out of standard geomorphs, and a bit of a fight, but not this.
Another Superman clone.
Conner cursed to himself as he looked at the man in stasis in front of him. He had done this dance before with Project Match and boy, was that a nightmare of a fight. He grumbled to himself as he contemplating leaving the clone versus letting the guy out. Eventually, after a lengthy internal debate, he pressed the big red button, releasing the clone from the stasis pod.
The man fell forward, groaning as he hit the floor before coming to and springing up. Conner was ready for the aggression. He understood, after all. He had that moment when he was first freed. The anger, the fear, learning to understand everything that was going on. He got it and he knew how to help when it happened again.
"Take a breath!" Conner shouted, grabbing the clone by the shoulder and holding him as still as he could. "You're panicking and I understand but you need to breathe and look around."
The clone seemed to understand and followed his instructions, his rapid breathing slowly calming as he started to recognize his reality. Conner waited patiently for the clone to get ahold of himself before eventually speaking again.
"Are you alright?"
