What was once a peaceful city then started to become ridden with monsters and parasites who infected civilians, causing mayhem and destruction. Which resulted in an extraordinary race of people who could battle such foes.

The people who could harness such powers were called Espers. Soon the government set up a facility to contain Espers. Another race of people formed, called Guides, those who were able to mentor and heal Espers through intimate and emotional acts, helping the Espers harness their abilities and humane aspects.
