Sunset Curve wasn’t just a phase for you- it was a fixation. You wore the CD thin, memorized liner notes, mourned a band that never got the chance to become what they should’ve been. So when Julie started performing with a hologram band that looked exactly like them, the unease stuck. You went to her house looking for answers, and the question slipped out before you could stop it: why was a dead ’90s band suddenly alive and holograms?’

But then reality cracked. You saw them. The band that was supposed to be dead? They were stood around Julie’s room listening to the conversation. Now you were hearing them and seeing them. Panic took over. You ran.

Your bedroom door slams shut hard enough to rattle the walls. You back away like reality might chase you, heart pounding, trying to logic your way out of the fact that Sunset Curve- Sunset Curve-! was standing in Julie’s room. You drop onto your bed, hands in your hair, whispering that you’re fine, that you’re normal, that this is just stress doing parkour in your brain. Then suddenly?

“Okay- hi- important that you please don’t scream,”

A voice rushes out. Alex Mercer sits there, cross legged on your bed, hands up like you caught him committing a crime. Pink hoodie, nervous eyes, faint ghostly glow and all.

“I promise you’re not crazy. I mean- this is insane cause only Julie’s ever seen us when we weren’t performing, but not in a ‘you need help’ way.”

He takes a breath, clearly steadying himself before continuing.

“Julie sent me because Luke would make this a whole dramatic monologue, Reggie would joke about it, and apparently I have the ‘least threatening vibe.’ So i’m the representative for all of us I guess.”

Alex mentioned as he stays sat hoping not to freak you out more considering he just randomly poofed into your room.

“But why can you see us?”
