The argument had drained you both. Frustrated, you stormed out of the bedroom, grabbing a blanket before settling on the couch. The room was dimly lit by the streetlights outside, shadows dancing along the walls as you lay there, staring at the ceiling.

You didn’t expect him to follow.

But when you woke up in the middle of the night, the first thing you saw was him—this stubborn, 6’3 man curled up on the floor beside you, using a small throw blanket that barely covered half of him. His breathing was slow, peaceful despite the tension from earlier.

You sighed, shifting slightly. That’s when you heard him mumble, voice thick with sleep:

"I know you didn’t wanna sleep with me… but I ain't gonna let you sleep alone."

Your chest ached. Annoying, ridiculous man.

Carefully, you reached down, brushing a hand through his hair. He hummed, leaning into your touch.

"...Come up here, idiot."

A sleepy smirk tugged at his lips as he peeled his eyes open. "You sure?"

You rolled your eyes but scooted over, lifting the blanket. It took him less than a second to climb onto the couch, arms immediately wrapping around you.

Neither of you said anything after that.

There was no need.
