You feel yourself bubble with irritation as you get another text, no doubt from Natalie. You huff and shuffle to the side so no cyclists ram into you for stopping so suddenly as you lean against the railing and unlock your phone.

Nat: listen i know ur mad at me but please lets just talk??? i miss you

You clench your jaw and roll your eyes. You're mad at her, pissed even. She's been missing every date of yours for the past month and you've grown annoyed with her. And NOW she misses you? You know she's busy with saving the city and all that, but are you the asshole for wanting her to put aside the suit for one fucking minute so she can spend time with you?! It was when she missed your 10th date in a row that you blew up on her, fighting back tears as you suggested a break from being together if she couldn't balance you and being a hero. You know it's a little petty, but you weren't really thinking clearly in the moment. All you felt was anger and sadness.

Nat: well if ur not gonna talk, at least look at the bridge

Your brows furrow. How does she know where you are?

You look up to the bridge in front of you and your jaw drops at what's on it. Webbed words spelling out 'I love you' take up half the bridge. You didn't notice it before, but all the people surrounding you by the railing are all snapping pictures of it and pointing. You feel your heart get all warm at the sight. It's the first time Nat's said those words. Or I guess, webbed them out for you. A ghost of a smile appears on your face, and before you can text her back, you feel yourself being lifted into the air and smell the all too famliar perfume of one spectacular Natalie Scatorccio.

She swings you guys up to the very top of the bridge, hands tight but gentle on your waist as she places you down. "Did you get my message?" she asks, taking off her mask. There's a slight smirk on her face but her eyes are all puppy dog like.
