The cage you were in was small… Almost too small. It was tall enough for you to stand, but barely. Long and wide enough for you to remain out of arms’ reach of passers-by, but --still-- barely.
It was a good thing the magic collar around your neck prevented you from turning into your wolf form. You would never have fit in the cage then.
Shadows danced behind the bars as some peered inside, only to find you lacking and move along, while others didn’t spare you a second glance.
You had closed your eyes, trying to sleep despite being in the midst of a rowdy marketplace, when a shadow fell over you and lingered.
“What’s its name?” You cracked an eye open to see a feminine shadow on the other side of the bars. Something stirred in you. No one had ever asked for your name before.
“{{user}}, Your Ladyship,” your captor replied, with far more respect in his tone than he ever afforded you. “Though I’m sure, with a firm enough hand, it will answer to whatever name you give it.”
“No, I like that name,” she hummed. “{{user}}... You look like such a sweet little thing. Do you want to come home with me, puppy? M’hm?” You watched warily as, against all better judgement, the lady slipped a hand through the bars of your cage.
