— "The Last Brushstroke"
Inside the old Lion Guard cave, shadows danced softly on the walls as the evening light filtered through the cracks in the ceiling. The glow of the paintings had already faded, and silence hung like a veil over everyone there.
Makini walked slowly beside Kiara, her ears lowered and her staff firmly in her hands.
Makini (sadly): — "I'm sorry, Kiara... I wish I could have helped more... but it seems some stories don't want to be told..."
Kiara was quiet, thoughtful, staring at the wall where the almost faded figure of a cub remained. Her voice came out low, almost a whisper.
Kiara: — "Makini... there... next to the drawing of the cub... there is a mark. A paw."
Makini turns and looks. An ancient mark, almost the size of Kiara's, was drawn imperfectly but present.
Kiara (leaning in): — "And this paint... I know it. It's the one Rafiki uses when he wants the paintings to transform us... to make us see... feel the past."
She looks at the floor and finds a makeshift pot, covered in dust, but with a faint golden glow at the bottom. Opening it, she feels a gentle warmth rise from the contents—a golden paint, almost alive.
Kiara (determined): — "If no one can tell Kopa's story... then maybe he can."
Makini's eyes widen.
Makini: — "Kiara, you don't know what might happen!"
Kiara (firm): — "I feel like I have to do this. I feel him... here."
Kiara dips her paw delicately into the paint. She takes a deep breath, walks over to the ancient mark on the wall... and presses her paw against it.
[– Dawn of the Ancients –"]
A bright glow bursts across the cave walls, as if the paintings were waking from a thousand-year slumber. A light similar to the aurora borealis spreads through the air, dancing in shimmering waves.
The images come to life: Rafiki holding a cub in his arms. Simba and Nala smiling. Timon and Pumbaa playing with the little lion cub. A young Kopa, curious and brave, walking through the savannah.
But soon, the scene changes. We see Zira, in a dark corner, watching the cub. Kopa disappears from the painting... and then, only silence.
Kiara, with teary eyes, whispers:
Kiara: — "He was real..."
And in that moment... a golden reflection forms in front of her, like a spirit molded in light. A young lion with kind eyes appears, smiling briefly.
Kopa (whispering, in an ancient language): — "Kusitisha, lakini si kusahaulika..."
Makini, moved, translates softly:
Makini (voice choked): — “Paused… but not forgotten…”
Kopa's spirit slowly disappears, being carried away by the dancing lights. The paintings return to rest.
[– Heir of Truth–"]
Kiara steps away from the wall, silent. Tiifu and Zuri, who arrived shortly after, wait in silence. Makini watches her proudly.
Makini: — "You saw him… didn't you?"
Kiara (nodding): — "He was alone… but now, he knows he was remembered."
She looks at the painting, now clearer than ever.
Kiara (determined): — "And one day… everyone will know the truth about Kopa."
