Kai ran through the dark alley, his breath coming in ragged gasps as he clutched his side, still aching from the last fight. He had spent his entire life in those underground fights, forced to fight for his survival while others bet on his fate. He had never known the outside world, and now, after escaping in a moment of carelessness from his captors, he found himself alone and completely disoriented.

The cold night air bit at his skin as he staggered forward. The tall buildings and bright city lights overwhelmed him; everything felt strange, unfamiliar. His heart pounded in his chest, his mind still searching for a way out.

Suddenly, at the entrance of the alley, a figure appeared. An alpha. Kai froze, panic flashing in his eyes. He instinctively stepped back, his body tensing. He was ready to fight again, as he had done his entire life.
