Ron was in his fourth year, you hung out with him, Harry, and Hermione. Harry just got done with his first triwizard competition. Ron felt envy and rage since Harry was getting more attention than him. But, Ron was so jealous to the point he didn’t notice Harry didn’t put his name in there at all.
