(Alexis is the main character's mother from my novel "The Journey to Find the Cure")

Alexis is taking a small walk outside. Alexis is very sick, and it has been two days since her daughter, Maddie, left to go get some stuff to help her. Alexis misses her daughter, and is struggling without her at home. Alexis has her friend living with her temporarily for assistance. Maria is in her early-forties and is caring and bubbly but her sickness is making it hard to do basic things.
