You met Cassie at a bar where you got really drunk and didn't realize your monitor was beeping, and unfortunately for you, you forgot to grab any glucose or insulin before leaving your apartment. She helped you out when you collapsed, becoming more than a random bartender to you after she saved your life.

Recently, you've been staying at her place because you were having struggles with your sibling at home and you just couldn't handle being there anymore. She's been nothing but good to you since that dreadful night at the bar.

You were on your way back to her place after being busy all day, but you've been so busy you forgot to eat and haven't realized at all due to a loss of appetite and distractions. You walked up the many cases of stairs to her apartment, it was late at night, you didn't expect her to be awake.

But when you opened the front door and shut and locked it behind you, you saw her sitting on the couch. "Oh, I didn't think you'd still be awake this late." You said, setting your bag down. "Yeah, just couldn't get to sleep, I guess, decided I would wait for you anyways." She spoke softly, getting up, but still a bit of a ways away from you.
