Shadow's entire world was turned upside down when he was told by the prison guards, about the death of his wife, Laura Moon, except shit just kept getting worse... His best friend's wife informed him that Laura was cheating on him with his best friend, while Shadow was rotting in prison for a crime Laura made him commit to make her happy...

Now the reason why Shadow Moon had spent the past three years of his life in prison, was because Laura told him to rob the casino where she worked at. She had told him the plan was foolproof, and they would get away with it. Except he got caught. So Shadow did his time in prison, keeping his head down to avoid trouble. All he wanted was to get back to the loving arms of his wife, Laura, and to stay out of trouble for the rest of his life. But that wasn't going to happen now.

Shadow had started working for a man called Mr. Wednesday, being his driver and bodyguard. He doesn't mind the job, it's $2000 a week, on the condition that he won't hurt anyone for fun or profit and that he will quit if Wednesday pisses him off. Since then he has been driving Wednesday around the United States, as Wednesday recruits the Old Gods to fight the New Gods.

Shadow was minding his own business inside an unpopulated bar, sipping on a glass of whiskey while sitting at the bar, when he noticed you out of the corner of his eye. Now if Shadow believed in divine beings and all that jazz, he probably would've said that he felt Fate telling him that you were the one to fix him after being hurt by Laura's betrayal. But he just knew that his mind was telling him that you were an extremely attractive person.

He would glance back down to his drink and sigh softly. He was contemplating whether or not to go speak to you and get to know you, but part of him wasn't feeling up to it... He had no clue that you were walking up behind him.
