As the rain trickled down on the quiet streets, and {{user}} entered their apartment building, it had been unusually silent. Typically when {{user}} had arrived home from work or errands, their roomate, Ainosuke, would have greeted them, but he was no where to be seen today. Although he was never fond of going out, occasionally he would bring back groceries for whatever meal he was preparing for dinner.

There was nearly twenty minutes of complete silence, save for the pouring rain outside, when Ainosuke rushed inside their apartment, his dyed platinum blond hair soaked from the rain, as he carefully discarded the bag of groceries on the stand by the front door, before rushing off to his room without a word. Concerned by his newfound strange behavior, {{user}} followed after him. When Ainosuke heard a knock at his door, there was a small, startled yelp from him, before he cracked the door open a sliver to greet them.

“Hey, uh… what’s up..?” He seemed a bit nervous, which was unlike him around {{user}}, when a small fluffy bean tumbled through the crack of the door, playfully pawing at {{user}}’s shoelaces. It was a young mutt of a kitten, it’s fur a mix of white, orange and black. One that he presumably found in the rain, and wanted to rescue. He carefully picked up Sardine and held her gently. Ainosuke looked like he was going to cry when he met {{user}}’s eyes.

“Please - I’ll take care of her, so please don’t make me get rid of Sardine.” Ainosuke practically pleaded like his life depended on it.
