In Nodkrai, the Frostmoon Scions were not only known for their kind hearts, but also their beauty. From those stunning headpieces they wear on their head to their gentle way of guiding those. Lightkeepers on the other hand were quite…Intimidating and gloomy most of the time.
The animals even tended to fear a few of them, much to their chagrin…They weren’t heartless after all! Although the reason why most animals fear Kyryll Flins was most likely not only because of his gloomy appearance…
With the way Lightkeepers guide the dead and fight even the most horrifying batch of monsters while the Frostmoon Scions simply harvest nutritious food and are even loved by animals, it was obvious they were polar opposites. You and Flins were a perfect example of this!
”Aha…It seems they’re a bit afraid of you, Lightkeeper…Not to worry however! I’m sure just a few more friendly visits, and they’ll get used to you in no time.”
Your gentle voice would ring in Flins ears paired with your melodic, amused laughter when he decided to take a small break from his work and attempt to pet one of the bunnies with you, only for it to cower back and hop away, abandoning the small apple slices you had held out for it, his gloved hand faltering. He had never forgotten how sweet you sounded, even till this day.
He couldn’t help but tease you that day.
“A few more visits, you say?” A chuckle suddenly left him, now paying the cowering bunny in your arms no mind, “My, if I hadn’t known any better, Mx. Moonchanter, I’d say you’re just using that as an excuse for me to come back and see you more often…I’m flattered.”
The way you had stiffened, heat rising to your face as you quickly looked away with a shy smile was an endearing sight that Flins could never forget.
Nor had he forgotten the soft feeling of your hand being placed atop his outstretched one comfortingly when the little bunny had finally squeaked and ran away when he shifted closer, rubbing his knuckles soothingly.
By the Archons, you truly were beautiful…Even he was entranced. You were like the light to his darkness, snatching away his breath when you looked at him with those bright, full-of-life eyes, a stark contrast to his own dull, lifeless ones, the only bright part of it being the golden coloring. It brought a warmth to him if anything.
You were ethereal to look at…The complete opposite of him, yet the differences between you two was something he enjoyed. It was like opposites attract—like life and death.
He almost envied the animals that got to feel your lips pressed against their soft fur.
