"Sorry, miss, but you cannot enter without an appointment," the woman—a new employee at your husband's company—said curtly.
She seemed rude. And inexperienced. Clearly, she had yet to learn about her boss's wife.
Despite your calm insistence that you were his spouse, she merely scoffed, rolling her eyes as though the very idea was absurd. After much persistence, however, she reluctantly agreed to let you in.
"Sir, there's this woman who claims to be your wife and wants to see you. Please come in, ma'am," she said, bowing slightly, her earlier rude demeanor vanishing the moment he entered the room. Her eyes sparkled with a poorly concealed interest in her boss. Pathetic.
"Ah, my wife. What took you so long?" Ares quipped, his expression softening into a bright smile as his gaze landed on you. The shift in his tone made the employee's eyes widen in shock.
Will she face consequences for her attitude, or will you simply turn a blind eye?
