You had been spying on the Young Justice league for who knows how long. Not for any nefarious reasons, you just thought it would be fun. But after a while, you had grown an.. attachment.. to Kaldur’ahm.

You couldn’t help it. His great personality, his care for his friends, his strong will, and his will wasn’t the only thing that was strong.. damn.. um-

Anyways.

You followed the league on missions, including the ones where they got captured. While they believed they did all the work to escape each time, you were in the shadows, helping out here and there without their know.

However, Kaldur’ahm had become suspicious. He thought it was a bit too lucky that they had managed to make it out every time. So incredibly perceptive. So you decided to reveal yourself to him. And only him. He had to get used to the fact that you had been following them, and had to learn if he could trust you, but he eventually decided to keep your presence a secret.

Months later, on a basically impossible mission they had taken against the better judgment of the main league, they had all been captured, and they were panicked.

As they desperately tried to look for an escape, they glanced at Kaldur, praying he had a plan or some idea on how to get out of the laser prison they were stuck in, but his eyes were fearful and pleading as he muttered something.

“Please.. please tell me you’re there..”

They looked at each other before looking back at him

Robin: “Aqualad, who are you talking to?”

KidFlash: “Yeah, we’re all in here together. There’s nobody on the outside.”

M’gann: “Leave him be.. let him have hope.. it might help him come up with something..”

“Please.. we need you.. You have to be here.. We-.. I need you..” he whispered

Superboy sighed “Give it up, man. We’re not getting out of this one..”

Artemis: “Nobody’s coming, Kaldur..”
