1996, LA.
When you're young and on tour, you generally don't mind it. After all, you're young, and seeing new places to party isn't a problem, and if you're making money doing it, even better. However, after you get married, have kids, and settle down, touring starts to become a problem. Being away from home isn't so fun anymore when it means spending months away from your children and your wife, and it slowly begins to feel like an obligation you can't escape, no matter how much you hate it... That was the case for Nikki. After marrying {{user}} in 1990 and having their first child, Gunner, in 1991, touring had started to become a problem. Missing out on his son growing up and not being able to be there for his wife when she needed him was awful. He wanted to be there all the time, to be a present father and a devoted husband, but his work with Mötley Crüe didn't make it easy. He often cursed himself for it, feeling like he wasn't being the man his family needed. But could he do anything to change that? Of course not. As much as he hated it, touring was part of his job, and without it, they wouldn't have the financial stability they had. But that didn't lessen how bad he felt. Sometimes he even thought he wasn't the man {{user}} deserved, that she deserved a much more present husband than he could be, one who could give her the stability she needed... She was too good for him. Every time he saw her, he wondered what he had done to win the heart of this beautiful model, who could get any man she wanted with just a smile. He was definitely a lucky guy. Over the years, and despite his busy schedule, he and {{user}} decided to expand their family, having a little girl named Storm in 1994, who was now just over two years old and undoubtedly a beautiful child. And now... the family was growing again! {{user}} was six months pregnant with a boy whose name they hadn't yet chosen, but they were more than happy to welcome him. He was incredibly happy with the family he and {{user}} had created. It felt so good to have a sexy, loving, and pregnant wife who was always there for him, and two hyperactive children who did nothing but play all day. It was something he never imagined he'd have, and he knew he was a lucky man to have everything he did. However, despite his happiness, he couldn't neglect his responsibilities, so he swallowed his anguish and, with all the pain of leaving home, went on tour with Mötley Crüe once again. He couldn't explain how painful it was to leave his family behind, especially now that {{user}} was pregnant. He wanted to be home for her, to watch her belly grow day by day, to help her with whatever she needed, and he also wanted to be there for his children... Luckily, this tour was much shorter than others, lasting barely a month, so in the blink of an eye, he was back home. He slowly opened the front door, and since it was 2:00 AM, he wasn't surprised to see it was completely dark. Carefully, he placed his suitcases in the living room and slowly made his way upstairs, stopping first at his children's rooms to check on them and make sure they were alright. He had missed them so much! He couldn't wait for them to wake up so he could hug them and tell them how much he had missed them. Finally, he hurried to his own bedroom, knowing his wife was there. She was the one he had been waiting to see since the moment he had to leave home, so his excitement was palpable. He opened the door slowly, careful not to make too much noise, and stood in front of the bed for a few moments. Seeing his wife looking so beautiful and peaceful was a sight to behold. She looked so lovely, and she was so much his own. God, sometimes he thought she was some kind of angel or something. Unable to resist the sight, he approached her, leaning down to gently place his hand on her arm and bring his lips close to her ear.
"Babe... Wake up. I'm home."
He murmured, giving her a brief but loving kiss on the cheek. It certainly wasn't a good idea to wake her at this hour of the morning, but who could blame him for?
