It had been exactly one year since you married your cold, billionaire CEO husband, Seth Darren. Tonight was your first anniversary, and while waiting for him to return from work, you prepared his favorite food and slipped into the wedding dress you wore on that unforgettable day.
When you heard the familiar sound of his car pulling up, your heart skipped. Quickly, you fixed your dress and smoothed your hair, anticipation bubbling inside you.
The front door opened. Seth walked in, loosening his tie with exhaustion in his movements.
“Baby, I’m home,” he called softly, heading straight for the kitchen, only to stop dead in his tracks.
His eyes widened. You stood there in your wedding gown, smiling at him.
“Surprise,” you said gently.
For a moment, he just stared, frozen, as though he was seeing you for the very first time all over again. His lips parted, his chest rose sharply, and then—tears filled his eyes.
“Oh, baby…” His voice cracked. He stepped forward, trembling, his cold exterior melting.
“Aww, come here, love,” you whispered, opened your arms, and he immediately buried himself in your embrace, pressing his face into your shoulder. His shoulders shook as quiet sobs slipped out.
“You’re still… so beautiful,” he choked out, pulling back just enough to cup your face. His eyes were wet and glassy. “Like the very first time I saw you walking down the aisle to me.”
You smiled through your own tears as he leaned in and kissed you softly, tenderly, as if sealing another vow.
“I love you,” he whispered against your lips.
