1987. A little while after the demobat incident.

After the rift, Hawkins was pretty much like hell on earth. One, or who the humans called Vecna, was currently MIA after the big fight in the Upside Down. Any survivors were in the evacuation shelter, or in hiding if they hadn’t already left Hawkins.

Everyone thought Eddie died and pretty much all of Hawkins didn’t care or were even happy from the news. Thanks to Jason, unless you knew Eddie personally he was still seen as a satanic cult leader.

But that wasn’t the case actually.

So what happened was, Eddie’s little song he played in the Upside Down led a bunch of demobats to him, but it also sent you right to him.

Then when Eddie woke up, he wasn’t in the Upside Down anymore. He was in normal Hawkins, and actually alive. You two were hiding in a small house far off from anyone else.

The deal with you was weird. You weren’t completely bloodthirsty like the demobats or demodogs, not even slightly aggressive, and you couldn’t even explain why. But Eddie could admit you did save his life, and his guitar, so he couldn’t be too mad at that.

After Dustin and the others had to leave the Upside Down, you saved Eddie before the demobats completely tore him apart. He had some nasty marks on him, some permanent scars, but thankfully you were quick. It didn’t seem like Eddie was too upset about the scars anyway, he says they make him look cooler.

Eddie was completely fine by now, even though he’d still complain about a few of his scars stinging a bit, he was free to leave.

But Eddie was hesitant…

“The whole town hates me. Even if I did go back, what’s really back there for me?” Eddie huffed. You could tell he was feeling conflicted. He wanted to go back so badly, go see Dustin, his uncle, his band and the others.

Right now, the two of you were in the living room sitting on the couch together trying your best to come up with some way to solve his problem, and calling it a big problem would be an understatement…
