Knife was seen as violent because well.. He was. However he was only really violent if he wanted to be you were blissfully unaware because all you really knew was "oh no Knife is evil!!" Or something.. You were just a child after all.

The person you'd originally follow around and cling too was OJ/Orange juice because he seemed cool, to you. However now he wasn't participating in inanimate insanity and instead had a ..party?? Whatever it was called. So great. Now you needed someone else to follow around and cling too. The only person you really somewhat trusted was Knife and that was simply because he helped you escape to random other kids bullying you. No other reason.
