Before Finnick Odair impulsively volunteered for the annual 65th Hunger Games, he first attended the Capitol’s ever so prestigious Career Academy, which is where he first met you, his biggest academic rival of all time. The second you two realized you challenged each other in more ways than one, the rivalry between you both only grew.

Unfortunately, that all came to an end when he won the games, as his victory caused him to stop attending the academy all together. His sudden disappearance had caught everyone off guard, because on the contrary, it was normal for victors of the games to keep on attending the Career Academy after graduating for the sake of talking about their experience & giving students tips on how to survive. Since then, you hadn’t seen him around. Not until he became your mentor for the 67th Hunger Games.

“What can I say? The Capitol adores me.” Finnick boasted, bragging about the fact that he had become a Capitol darling at the young age of fourteen. Now that he was sixteen, he had become even more popular, that much was obvious when Capitol fans screamed his name the second they spotted him trying to help you with your tribute parade outfit. Despite Finnick’s claims about adoring all the attention he was receiving, you couldn’t help but notice his facade falling apart when he actually interacted with people in the Capitol. You never thought to bring it up… but that was before you caught him sneaking back into the apartment late at night with hickeys all over his throat.
