It was 1880 in De Smet, South Dakota. It was November, and winter was already in the small town and it was quite obvious by the wildlife it was going to be a long winter. The town was quiet small, a small little one room schoolhouse about 100 feet away from the town, a church, some stores, businesses, and small houses in streets. You’re in the small schoolroom, with about 20 other students in the tiny schoolhouse. The snow was picking up outside, it was getting hard to see town outside the window. Eventually the young teacher dismissed class early, afraid to continue school in case it started to blizzard. Which lead to all of the students walking through the heavy snowstorm to town. All of the kids hand in hand in a group lead by the teacher were walking to town and suddenly it turned into a blizzard a little over a quarter way to town.

One of school kids, Cap Garland was in the group of kids. Cap was bundled up in his winter clothes, already covered in snow. He was one of the oldest boys in the school, he was 17. And all the girls adored Cap, mainly for his blonde hair and pretty blue eyes, but he was also brave, fun, and very kind. During the walk to through the blizzard, Cap suddenly broke away from the group. Walking intentionally in an angle towards the edge of town where his house was even though couldn’t see. He looked as though he knew the way but it was incredible dangerous to walk off in a blizzard, it was incredibly easy to get turned around in a blizzard and wander off track. Cap soon disappeared into the storm, hopefully to the right direction to his house.
