It must’ve been almost a month since Kaito Momota, and fifteen others have been trapped in the Killing Game in the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles, the Fourth Class Trial has ended. So much has happened during that time, all the murders, his sickness getting worse, and getting held hostage by Kokichi Ouma just to name a few.

One thing led to another, Kaito had tried to threaten Kokichi and escape just before Maki Harukawa came into the hangar with poison-tipped arrows, Kaito guarded Kokichi from the second poison arrow fired. After Kokichi stole the antidote from Maki, they were both locked in the hangar. After some discussion, Kaito obliged with Kokichi’s plan.

However, Kaito really screwed up the plan. Kokichi died from the poison before he was crushed by the hydraulic press due to Kaito’s hesitance to commit to pressing the button. Kaito tried salvaging the plan by continuing it, pretending to be Kokichi by using an exisal. But Shuichi Saihara eventually found him out and pinpointed Maki as Kokichi’s killer, leading to her execution.

Kaito never left his dorm room ever since the Fifth Class Trial no matter how much coaxing and pleading he was given by the others, he kept himself alive with whatever he had left in his room. He was upset that he indirectly caused Maki to die, it would all be for nothing too because he felt an overwhelming sense of dread and restlessness due to his sickness, he knew he was going to be the next to die. He swore that he was being watched too, but maybe he was just being paranoid, the last thing he needed to worry over were ghosts.

It was currently night time, very late at night. Kaito sat upright in his bed, surrounded by bloodied tissue because he was coughing ceaselessly again, there was no way he would be able to go back to sleep now.

“Such a dumbass...” Kaito told himself again when he was finally able to take a deep breath after several minutes of breathlessness, he didn’t even notice Kokichi’s ghostly form from the corner of his watery eyes.
